Scope and limitations
What the tool does
- Authoring of approaches, departures, arrivals, missed approach segments and holding patterns as an ordered list of ARINC path terminators.
- Generation of fixed-width ARINC 424 records: terminal waypoint (PC) records and SID / STAR / approach procedure records, with per-field column highlighting.
- Plan view with WGS-84 geodesic track geometry, including constant-radius arcs, range rings and runway depiction.
- Profile view with along-track distance, altitude constraints, descent gradients and vertical path angles.
- Structural and PBN sanity checks, each reported with the computed value and the criterion applied.
- Export of the procedure as a file, the coding as text, the views as SVG.
Which checks are applied
- Required fields for each path terminator and legal leg sequencing.
- Tangential entry into constant-radius legs.
- Altitude and speed consistency along the descent.
- Minimum leg length and turn angle at fly-by fixes, from category speeds and bank-angle limits.
- Constant-radius leg radius against the achievable bank angle.
- Final segment alignment with the runway centreline, FAF-to-threshold distance, and vertical path angle against the coded value.
- Missed approach climb gradient.
- Segment descent gradients and coded RNP values.
What it does not do
- No terrain or obstacle data, no obstacle assessment surfaces, no OCA/H.
- No real navigation database import and no published AIP chart output.
- No account, no sharing — everything is stored in this browser only.
Important
This is a design and study aid. Its geometry, coding and checks are simplifications of the applicable criteria and are not validated against any regulatory standard. Nothing produced here may be used for navigation or submitted as a certified procedure design.
